ALTERNATES Season 1 is the first installment in ALTERNATES. It consists of 5 episodes. It premiered on March 2nd, 2025, and concluded on May 4th, 2025.
Overview[]
Aphmau runs from an Alternate that looks like her and she meets Zane, who lets her in his house. Then they meet Kim, who was hiding in Zane’s basement. They then meet Pierce and they all team up, but Pierce quickly gets decapitated by Aphmau’s Alternate. They later meet KC, Michi, and Rhys before Michi reveals herself to be an Alternate and they all get separated. They seemingly kill the Alternate Aphmau by burning Zane's shed, only for Aphmau's friends to reveal themselves to be Alternates and she blacks out when another Aphmau Alternate grabs her.
After finding the real Kim and Zane, they enter an Alternate McDonalds and Kim gets killed by the Alternate Michi, who they manage to kill at a gas station. Aphmau, accompanied by Zane, meets Travis and Katelyn, and they all team up and go to the power plant on their quest to find KC. Pierce's decapitated head then comes back as a spider Alternate. Katelyn gets stabbed in the leg by him and presumably falls to her death. Zane starts going insane and gets separated from Aphmau and Travis. After realizing that a quadrupedal Alternate of Aphmau was using KC's voice to lure them into a trap, Aphmau and Travis send out a broadcast searching for other survivors, and Aaron, Ivy, and Garroth see it and search for them.
Aphmau and Travis find Zane again, but he continues to lose his sanity over the thought of KC being dead. And when they meet the unfriendly Swamp Woman, Zane tosses her into one of her own traps. He then gets killed at the peak of his insanity by an insectoid Alternate of Aphmau. Aphmau and Travis meet up with Aaron and Ivy, but Garroth had already been killed after escaping death beforehand. But not long after they unite, Aaron gets kidnapped and put in a cell next to Katelyn.
Entering the Alternate police station, Aphmau and Travis find that Katelyn is alive and Aaron is with her. Unfortunately, Ivy gets killed by a maggot that crawled out of the insectoid Alternate of Aphmau. Aphmau and Travis reunite with Katelyn and Aaron, though it doesn’t last long as Aaron sacrifices himself in an explosion to kill the insectoid Alternate Aaron and destroy the nest while saving the othes.
Aphmau, Katelyn, and Travis finally make it to the Safe Town and find that KC and Rhys are there. They meet Leif, who is the town's mayor, but he confiscates their transceiver, claiming that electronics are banned from the Safe Town and that they lure Alternates. After seeing Leif cover a death withing the Safe Town however, Aphmau teams up with Rhys and they send a drone to follow Leif into the mines, only for it to get destroyed by one of Aphmau's Alternates. Upon finding proof that Leif has been sacrificing people in the Safe Town to the Alternates, Rhys gets killed and Leif reveals himself to have been an Alternate all along before taking Peebs. With the town being destroyed by tentacles, Katelyn meanwhile becomes an Alternate herself due to the infection Pierce's Alternate gave her. However, she manages to fend off Leif and Aphmau and Travis save Peebs. They then find a massive Alternate of Aphmau who has been living underneath the Safe Town the whole time, with her being the one who wishes to replace Aphmau. The group manages to blow up the mines and kill both Leif and the Alternate Aphmau, but Katelyn dies as well. Aphmau, along with KC, Travis, and Peebs, host a funeral for their fallen friends before rebuilding the Safe Town.
