The Celestial Cannon was an ancient and technologically advanced structure that was built even before the events of Minecraft Diaries. It was designed to protect the world from a planet-destroying comet and forge powerful relics out of human souls. A character by the name Dem had wrote about the earliest progress of the creation of the Celestial Cannon.
History[]
Before the events of Minecraft Diaries, Irene used the Celestial Cannon to destroy a comet headed for the planet as well as forge six relics, one for herself and the rest for the other five Divine Warriors. However, once Shad learned that the creation of the relics involved human sacrifices, including his and Irene's own daughter, he went rogue and became the Shadow Lord. Centuries later, he brought Aphmau's new daughter, Alina, to the Celestial Cannon to turn her into a new relic for revenge. He was then defeated by Aphmau and Emmalyn. However, Emmalyn then used the Celestial Cannon to try and bring her dead husband, Kenmur, back to life, but something went horribly wrong as her soul was split apart, turning what little remained of her into a ghost, who's memories would fade and distort over the years to come. Before returning to Irene's Dimension, Aphmau decided that the Celestial Cannon should never be used again and assigned Holla to protect it.
Dem's diary entries[]
August 5th 327 RS
There is no mistaking it... Zeid's path is clear. On April 28th 342 RS Zied will collide with the planet. Our physicist are calling it a planet killer - nothing will escape it's destruction, not even our great city of Zi'tah. Holla... My son was just born and I already know he will never grow into a man.
Many have already left the academy - they see little use in continuing their research given our new restraints on life.
Mea and I will not give up yet. We will not stop our studies on anima manipulation.
Maybe... someday... we will find a way to protect our son.
3 more rotations - We have 15 years left

10 Until Midnight
April 27th 332 RS
Once more Zeid lights up the night's sky... so much closer than it was before.
Everyone left has devoted all of their efforts into the Celestial Cannon - a device engineered to stop Zeid before it makes contact with the surface.
Their efforts are in vain. There is no possible energy source that could power the device. They continue their construction despite that fact.
Mea and I have taken a different path. If we cannot stop Zeid's destruction then we must find a way to outlast it - to survive it. We found what we were looking for. It's only a matter of time until we have a breakthrough.
All we had to do was look into ourselves...
This is it. I'm sure of it.
10 years left.

5 Until Midnight October 16th 338 RS
We needed to test the prototype...
Why did I let her?...
It was her decision... but I could have stopped her.. I should have!
..and now she's gone...
...all that's left is a small flame that stands on the platform..
Holla asked where she was...
I don't know how to face him... I don't know what to do..
He is asleep..and I am broken..
Mea.. I can't do this alone..
Please

After more centuries past and the island of the Phoenix Alliance was now Starlight Wonderland, the Celestial Cannon was unearthed by the Guardian Forces, who were under the rule of the Demon Warlock, who now went by his original name, Michael. Holla was there to protect the controls to the structure behind a forcefield. He sensed their evil intentions and refused to let them or anyone else use the Celestial Cannon. However, Michael was easily able to phase through the barrier. Still not letting him use the controls, Holla went into battle with Michael, only to be bested by him. At the controls, Michael explained his reasoning for wanting to find the structure. Ever since his son took Enki's relic from him, he wanted to learn why it resonated with him. That's when he learned about the Celestial Cannon. Knowing how it was able to create relics, he asked a now shocked Holla how many people he let Irene kill here. Requesting to do the exact same thing, he activated the flight mechanisms as a test run, causing the entire island to get struck by an earthquake. Holla was then put in one of the Celestial Cannon's cells along with Michael's other prisoners.
After the Ultima, Aaron, was brought to the Celestial Cannon, Michael had the entire structure resurface, causing another earthquake and the destruction of the central island in the process. He then had Aaron brought to the prototype room so that Michael could use the weapon to turn Aaron into a new relic of pure destruction. He then ordered Zack to fire the weapon, but the latter hesitated because Michael's plans so far resulted in the intentional death of his daughter. Meanwhile, MCD Aphmau herself begged Aaron to get out of range, even telling him that there will be no rebirth for him and that everyone he knows will be slaughtered if he lets Michael win, but he refused to leave, now wishing to be put down like the monster he is after losing his family and fiancé. Pushing Zack out of the way, Michael activated the weapon himself, forcing MCD Aphmau to sacrifice her own life to shield Aaron. Calling out to Derek, he escaped his restraints and pushed Aaron out of the way, resulting in him getting turned into a relic instead. MCD Aphmau then used the last of her strength teleporting herself and Aaron to a different realm. Michael roared at the events that transpired, but moved on with his backup plan regardless, being to harvest the souls of everyone still trapped at Starlight.
After a revived Aphmau and her friends stepped foot on the structure, Michael had it launch from the ocean and into the sky using the relic forged from Derek. Stepping foot on top of the cannon to position himself between the soon-to-come souls and the prototype room's crystal, he absorbed the new relic into his body. At first, Derek himself resisted, but Michael was able to overpower him. But just when he was about to give orders to fire the cannon, Travis mentally stopped him, refusing to let him kill anyone else. He then pushed Travis aside and ordered for the cannon to be fired. Once activated, it harvested the souls of everyone below. As Toby, Rowan, and Holla approached Michael, he absorbed all the souls and transformed Travis' body into his original form. Holla stayed behind to confront the Demon Warlock, but he was easily defeated and tossed into the turbines keeping the Celestial Cannon in the air, killing him and causing the structure to fall in the process.
At the prototype room, Aphmau and her friends decided to use the weapon again so that one of them could confront the Demon Warlock. Aphmau was selected since Rowan was told by Holla to find "the girl with raven hair" since she could wield a relic. Aaron, Lucinda, and Zane then volunteered to turn into relics for Aphmau to use. Kim activated the cannon just when Michael defeated both Garroth and Katelyn. With the three new relics in her hand, Aphmau approached the Demon Warlock with glowing white eyes and absorbed them into her body, sprouting angel wings in the process. Realizing that Aphmau was a fragment of Irene's soul, he saw her as his quarry and brought both of them to Irene's dimension so that he could give her a death worthy of a goddess. However, Aphmau was victorious upon them returning to the cannon. Michael was forced back into Terry's body and the weapon was fired again, destroying them both as all the souls returned to the people at Starlight.
As the structure came closer and closer to splash landing, the weapon was activated one last time to return Aaron, Lucinda, and Zane back to normal. However, parts of their souls were missing, as evident by Zane referring everyone to the number of letters in their names, Lucinda losing her ability to use magicks, and Aaron looking his sight and memories. It was up to Kim and Ghost to teleport everyone to safety as the others fled the cannon via helicopter. Only Zack (willingly) remained in the cannon as it sunk into the ocean, only for Elizabeth to teleport him to the safety of one of Starlight's beaches.
Trivia[]
- The interior of the cannon appears to be based off the stage "Stellar Fulcrum" from FFXI.
