Aphmau & Jason/Dom
"Out in the cold, wolves wait to attack, but that's not the only thing out in these cold winters."
The episode opens with Aphmau speaking to the mysterious blind man, who asks her if she was bitten by any werewolves. When she affirms she is not, he seems pleased, and informs her of the wolf tribes recent population increase. Finally, the mysterious blind man says for her to be careful, and says that the owl Aphmau was trying to save has been nothing but trouble.
However, in the middle of his sentence he is cut off by more wolves falling for back up, and runs away. Aphmau is grateful to the man, but quickly returns to her task of helping the owl. Unfortunately, Aphmau's horse ran off while she was distracted. She looks around for shelter for the night, and, after spotting a house, decides to head there. Shortly before getting to the house, she is seen by a woman named Mira, who she talks to. Mira tries to find out more about Aphmau, but Aphmau does not tell her her true village, only that she is the Lord of Phoenix Drop.
After finding out her position, Mira invites her inside, for which Aphmau is very grateful. They start up another conversation, in which Aphmau asks Mira why she believed her. It turns out Mira wouldn't have cared had she been lying, and would show the same kindness to anyone. Aphmau then learns about camps from Mira, and then asks about exorcism, without mentioning Malachi. Mira directs Aphmau to someone named Damien, who apparently talks a lot and has odd hair.
After a few more words, Aphmau heads out to find Damian. Aphmau heads to the camp and talks to several people before finding out who Damian is. He is playing guitar, and when Aphmau first speaks to him is humming along with his song. Aphmau soon finds out he talks in bad rhyming poetry, which is very annoying to her. Damian agrees to help her exorcise Malachi, but for the exorbitant price of 10 diamond blocks, or 90 diamonds. Aphmau grudgingly agrees to pay him, making Damian very happy because he will get the money upfront, and not have to wait.
Aphmau then leads Damian to the castle, though not before picking some apples. Garroth, Laurance, and Dante greet her when she returns to the castle, though they are shocked she managed to find an exorcist after all. However, Damien then reveals that he has been searching for Malachi and his castle for years, and then causes a very large flash. Afterwards, Damian then reveals his ancestor was Thomas, who killed Malachi. Aphmau reacts with outrage, and yells at him.
Luckily, Damian has not hurt Malachi, but set him free, and wished to tell his story, rather then harm Malachi. He then tells Malachi his story: That Malachi had been put in this castle because he was an anomaly, one of the first people to use magicks. Had Malachi not been out in this castle, he would have been executed, since at the time he could not control his magicks. Malachi had been exiled because of this, and because people feared for his safety.
Eventually, Thomas killed Malachi because being around him made Thomas go insane with his fears. When he was lost in his mind, he shoved Malachi, not able to realize there was a balcony behind him that would kill him. After this happened, Malachi's parents had someone curse Thomas and his descendants, until Lady Irene delivered them from the curse. For some reason though, Damian could hear Thomas crying from the grave... At least until he freed Malachi, which made him say, "everything feels right here."
By freeing Malachi, and forgiving him, he had delivered Malachi from his own fear, and put something right. After Damian's monologue ends, Aphmau is touched, but Dante decides that they should remain focused on the wolf tribe, sentiments that Aphmau agrees with. Laurance appears rather lost in thought, but states that 900 years ago was around the time of Lady Irene.
Garroth is most likely worried by what happened, but doesn't tell Aphmau, and thinks that should not inquire further into the matter, as that may hurt Malachi more, though Malachi actually appears to be happy, and feels free and alive. He also remembers himself for the first time, which causes him to start crying. He asks for some time to "say goodbye to his fears" before they leave though, an afterwards says he feels reborn, though he is still a ghost, and is finally in control of his powers. After wonder a bit about the castle, Aphmau concludes the episode.
