Aphmau runs to investigate the explosion at Modzilla's lab, finding him fine but entranced by his new invention. Modzilla explains that he knew there had to be a way to return to his home dimension, proving that he ripped a portal to a parallel dimension of his home world. Modzilla asks Aphmau to accompany him on his way to his home dimension. He explains that he already went in and out of the portal, so she won't get stuck inside. Aphmau warns him that his world might not be as he remembered it, but Modzilla insists that he has to see it.
In his home dimension, the village looked just the same before it changed. Modzilla puts on a disguise and tells Aphmau that they're looking for his parents, Tessa and Albert. She meets Tessa first and asks if she has a child. Before Tessa could lash out, Modzilla bursts in and hugs her. Modzilla's family reunites again, and he tells his whole story.
Aphmau waits outside, then Modzilla joins her. When she asks if he's staying here, he explains that's the reason why he created Tommy, his replacement. They finally seek out Modzilla's original Polly, and they reunite. Polly missed him dearly, waiting for him for all this time.
Aphmau and Modzilla return to the other dimension to tell Tommy the news. Tommy says he's staying, and they say they'll miss and visit each other often. After Modzilla departs, Tommy begins to cry. Comforted by Aphmau, he tells her Modzilla was always distant and troubled and that he will continue his work as a scientist but in his own way. He thanks Aphmau for taking care of him and that she had shown him more compassion than Modzilla ever had since he lost his emotions when he lost everything. Aphmau takes Tommy home and they enjoy some cake together.
