Gene is an antagonist and Shadow Knight in Diaries Rebirth.
Biography[]
Gene is a Shadow Knight working alongside Sasha and Vylad observing Phoenix Drop after their murder of the former lord. He and the other Shadow Knights are working for Zane, the high priest of O'Khasis. Zane asked the Shadow Knights to slay the Lord of Phoenix Drop and his family, but Gene returned with the news his wife and child escaped. Zane punished Gene, ordering Lillian to cut off his ear with a sword.
Gene returned to Sasha, plotting to eventually betray Zane and steal the power Zane is searching for, and eventually take down the traitor among the group of Shadow Knights and destroy Phoenix Drop.
After the Shadow Knights' successful assassination of Visher, Gene headed off to the village of Bright Port. He murdered an O'Khasis guard and disguised himself among them to gain intel on the location of the Southern Werewolf Tribe harboring a portal to the Shadow Abyss.
While in Bright Port, he ran into Aphmau begging him for moon herbs so she can heal her friend. She asks him to help her travel to the Wolf Tribe to find the herb and mentions she has a friend with connections to the Wolf Tribe. Gene uses her to fulfil his intent to find the portal to the Shadow Abyss.
After meeting and unintentionally scaring away Aphmau's friend, John, Gene demonstrated his memory manipulation magicks, forcing John to no longer fear him and Aphmau. This took a great deal of energy from Gene, weakening him. Gene and Aphmau fought the werewolf Alpha, Bodolf.
Appearance[]
Gene has black hair with a fringe and has teal eyes. His most notable feature is his missing left ear, freshly severed at Zane's order.
Personality[]
Gene is, at his core, manipulative. While he's very smooth and cunning on the outside, he's actually bloodthirsty and has a poor temper. Although he was initially using Aphmau to find a way to the Shadow Abyss, he showed a lot of concern as she collapsed in the middle of the Werewolf Tribe.
