Janus is a character mentioned in Minecraft Diaries: War of the Magi. Janus was part of the Jury of Nine with the title Janus the Silver Death. Janus was the strongest and Zane's favorite juror.
Biography[]
Janus, as told by Katelyn, was easily the strongest member of the Jury Of Nine and Zane's favorite member. Janus delightedly did most of Zane's dirtiest work, saying "it gave them a purpose".
Some time during the 15-year time skip, Janus was slain by several waves of elite warriors sent by the king of Tu'la, after brutally massacring and terrorizing small villages along the countryside of Tu'la. He burnt villages to the ground, leaving nothing but blood and ashes, and any remaining survivors were found in hysterics.
After being slain, Janus's swords were recovered by the king of Tu'la and handed down to Ivy and Gavin.
Appearance[]
Janus' normal appearance was never shown, but Janus' Jury of Nine form was described as a pale monster with dead looking blue eyes and scars and surrounded with a blue light. Janus was shown to have wielded two swords, one orange with a purple hilt, and one with a light blue blade with a blue hilt. Janus' Jury of Nine form featured surrounding blue particles.

- The name Janus means "archway" in Latin. Janus was the Roman god of gateways and beginnings, often depicted as having two faces looking in opposite directions. The month of January is named after him.
