Panorama of Downtown Lapiz Point
Lapiz Point is a fictional Canadian city map in Minecraft that was built in 2012 by the AlphaCraft Team (now known as Elite Realism). This map has been used as the primary map for Aphmau's MyStreet series.
Map History[]
The map project was started by Québec-based Minecraft user, Yazur Strovoz, in 2012. The main goal for the AlphaCraft Team was to build the biggest city on Minecraft which at the time this project took place, was a big challenge. His team used references from all over the world but mainly from Canada and the USA such as Montréal, Toronto, Vancouver, New York City, and Chicago. These ideas and references highly influenced the overall look of Lapiz Point.
It had taken more than 15,000 hours of work in 1 year for the map to be built. Afterwards, AlphaCraft (which was renamed as the Esterlon Community) had moved on to making more bigger and realistic cities, such as Huntington City, and the Lapiz Point map had become available for download on Planet Minecraft.
Influence in the MyStreet Series[]
The first season of Aphmau's MyStreet series took place in one of the map's first suburbs. During the third season, an unfinished lot, just a couple blocks away from the first location, was used where it was filled in with some houses. During the Phoenix Drop High era, one of the more newly designed suburbs had been used.
