MyStreet is a Minecraft roleplay series on the Aphmau Gaming YouTube channel that spans over six seasons, taking place in a modern slice-of-life setting with fantasy elements.
Development[]
According to a post on Aphmau's Tumblr, the series' plot was not determined at the launch, but much later on. Originally, Aaron and Aphmau to show at times, with the viewer having been thrown into the “The Big Move” prequel-arc already having the idea that Aaron and Aphmau’s relationship was well established before this series began.
As the MyStreet plot continued to flourish, a new prequel series, MyStreet Phoenix Drop High, was made to give a backstory of the MyStreet characters. The prequel heavily focused on Aphmau's journey through high school as she faced the reality of returning to public school and the environment. Accompanying Aphmau's high school year, the series also spotlights the beginning of her friendships, bittersweet rivalries and everyday tasks as a teenager. From there, the story shifts from her to the origins of meeting Aaron.
In chronological order, The Big Move comes into play as it follows Aphmau moving into a new home. As she packs her belongings, Katelyn and Kawaii~Chan accompany her as her roommates. While the moving began, Garroth and Laurance attempt to stop Aaron. It is most likely that she got the money for this by working at Freddy Fazbear's, referencing another roleplay series of hers.
One of the major inconsistencies is Aphmau and Travis' friendship. In "The New Guy", Aphmau and Travis are said to have not known each other, meeting for the first time in the episode. However, in a later episode "Her Best Friends", Travis remembers her and Aphmau knowing each other prior, having attended the same high school and even being good friends. In the prequel series, MyStreet Phoenix Drop High, Aphmau and Travis are confirmed to have gone to the same high school and were pretty close.
Another inconsistency is the references to Diaries early in the series. One example being when Garroth and Laurance are shown to have their Jury form and Shadow Knight form respectively during “The Big Move”. Zane also wore his priest robes from Diaries during that time. A flashback is also shown of Garroth and Zane as children playing in the snow in Diaries' O'Khasis. Other examples include Katelyn referring to herself as a Fire Fist, which refers to her Jury Title, as well as possessing her fire-proof gauntlets. Also, Michi calls herself "evil", although she does deceive people and steal things to get what she wants in MyStreet.
There are also callbacks to events from Side-Stories, which was treated as part of Minecraft Diaries, with Zoey making an appearance, Levin and Malachi being shown as children, Katelyn acting uninterested in sleepovers and the fall fair, and some characters being unfamiliar with modern technology. As the series progressed, there has been little to minor allusions towards Minecraft Diaries until it was confirmed in Season 6 that MyStreet is the sequel to Minecraft Diaries, taking place countless years in the distance future, with some of the MyStreet characters being either descendants (Travis), second lives (Aaron), or soul fragments (Aphmau) of their Minecraft Diaries counterparts. Some characters even make a return from Minecraft Diaries, being Emmalyn (referred to as Ghost), the Demon Warlock (referred to as Michael), Alina, Aphmau, and Shad. There was even more lore added to Minecraft Diaries even though it was already discontinued.
The map used for most of the series is called Lapiz Point, which can be seen here. Other maps used for the series are private builds that use mods in their construction.

Trivia[]
- All the characters suggest that they attended the same high school. This is proven true in the prequel series MyStreet Phoenix Drop High.
- MyStreet uses more machinima than Minecraft Diaries. There has been a handful of episodes that are fully done by machinima, and it eventually fully overtook first person perspectives, which is why episodes took longer to produce and publish. Segments of animation were eventually introduced in Season 4. This made things take even longer to produce in Season 6 when animation was used frequently. Animation then completely replaced machinima in Season 7, leading to the season needing over a year to be released after its announcement in VidCon 2024.
- MyStreet was originally intended to be a crossover spinoff of previous roleplays, mainly Minecraft Diaries with small additions from Mod Mod World and Minecraft Isles, but as the series progressed, it started developing its own plot and began to introduce characters original to the series.
