Summary[]

Vylad appears in the forest nearby Phoenix Drop with a mysterious purple staff. He recalls Hyria giving it to him, and has brief flashes of his two brothers. He stabs the stick into the ground, causing purple light to burst from it. He hides behind a tree to watch, and sees a girl materialize and the staff disappear. When he hears someone coming he ducks completely out of sight.

Zenix finds Aphmau struggling to stand and hits her with a barrage of questions about her intents and purposes. When she collapses, he prods her with his sword to make sure she isn't playing and is proud of his 'victory'. Garroth runs into the clearing and chastises him, especially when he makes an inappropriate comment about her lack of decent clothing. So, Garroth rips Zenix's new cape to wrap around her and cover her up. He tells Zenix to carry her, but he becomes apprehensive about bringing an outsider into the village when things are so tense.

When Aphmau begins to wake in bed, she overhears some of the two guards' conversation. Zenix talks of Lord Malik and his family's deaths in the fire, the lack of bodies found, and how the guards are being blamed for it. He starts to craft a scheme where they blame Aphmau for it, and she attacked them when they confronted her- but Garroth scolds him for it and outright refuses. Zenix insists though, telling him Aphmau's dead to the world- when all of a sudden, she pulls his sword from its sheath and threatens them with it. Garroth tries to placate her, but she rushes Zenix, swings at both of them, and then runs downstairs where she finds Emmalyn wandering in.

Holding Emmalyn hostage and threatening her, Aphmau remains in panic mode. Garroth again tries to calm her down, understanding how scared she must be to not know where she is or what's going on. She says that he's familiar and drops the blade until Dale drunkenly wanders in and frightens her. Aphmau snatches Emmalyn's valuable book about Irene and throws it at Garroth's head, which he dodges.. but the book goes directly into the torch on the wall behind him, and starts to burn. Aphmau flees, but Garroth calls out to Brendan (who is tending the fields in that direction,) to do something. He holds his shovel out into the path and knocks her out cold, but Molly and Donna see the interaction and become furious with him. Donna yells at him, and the pair of women start to punch him.

Donna becomes upset with Garroth over his handling of the situation once Aphmau is back in bed. He sincerely apologizes, and she seems to accept it.. but is still disappointed. She happily accepts when he asks her to care for Aphmau, and when he leaves she reveals that she knows she's actually pretending to be asleep- and that it's safe to wake up now. Aphmau does, and when asked questions about herself she says she doesn't remember anything. Donna rambles and fetches her some soup, talking about how she left her mom's place to become a merchant and how the past isn't so important. All of a sudden, Aphmau tells her what she thinks is her name- much to her delight.

Upon inspecting her markings Donna becomes interested and remembers she has a friend in town for a bit that might know a thing or two about them, so she brings Aphmau out towards the town square to see him. Aphmau approaches a crop field outside, noticing how barren it is. Donna tells her about how the Lord died and how lots of villages have been having problems lately, having to explain the concept of a Lord to Aphmau.

In the town square, Donna runs towards Visher and wraps him up in a hug. She briefly apologizes to Brian for his dad's drunkenness, before introducing Aphmau to Visher and showing him her markings. He asks her why she doesn't just ask the local librarian who ought to know more, and Donna immediately insults her, almost cursing before Visher stops her because there's a child beside them- even though Brian is 16. When Donna tells him Aphmau has lost her memory, he wraps the girl in a crushing hug and fetches her some nice clothes from his wares for her to put on. He asks Donna to talk about something important in private, so she asks Brian to show Aphmau around while she's busy.. and he accepts.

Brendan works on demolishing Lord Malik's burnt home while Zenix and Garroth watch and discuss it. Aphmau and Brian approach, surprising the pair. After a brief conversation, Garroth tries to ask Aphmau if she remembers anything... but she again only has her name. He introduces himself just in time for Donna to return and whisk her away to go see Emmalyn, in case she knows what the markings mean.

In her house, Emmalyn is still trying to cope with the book about Irene being burned with a hot cup of tea. She becomes furious when Donna barges into her home, demanding she stop calling her house a brothel. They argue a bit, and when Donna tries to introduce Aphmau, Emmalyn becomes frightened that she's going to be threatened again. After some convincing, she takes a look at Aphmau's markings... and doesn't think anything of them. She argues with Donna a bit more before it's decided that Aphmau will be staying with Emmalyn- much to her dismay. Donna leaves, and Emmalyn gives Aphmau a blanket to sleep with anywhere she'd like.

In the morning when Aphmau wakes, she goes outside to one of the barren crop fields. When she touches the soil, her markings glow and she revitalizes the crops somehow. She's absolutely shocked, but so is Garroth who happened to be standing nearby.

Trivia[]

  • The title of the video is the same as the very first episode of the original.
  • Just like in the original series, Emmalyn and Aphmau's relationship starts off strained because she hurt her (in the original, Jess accidentally punched Emmalyn,) and stayed in her house without permission.
  • Emmalyn's 'brothel house' insult is a reference to the 'babe house' from the original series. It was nicknamed as such because Jess set Molly, Emmalyn, and Stephanie (who never became a full-fledged character,) to live there. In the third episode, Donna moved in.
