Noi is a main character in the Aphmau SMP.
Personality[]
Noi is generally easy-going and friendly to everyone. He is known for his love of animals as well as having a sweet tooth, chowing down on cookies and other foods. He sometimes shows a lack of situational awareness, making blunt quips or taking things very literally. He often sings or hums to himself while playing, and he has also shown hints of being a gamer, often making jokes and references to other series. Others often target and prank him due to him mostly being the most naïve person in the group. He tends to be one of the most patient players with pranks but also one of the most aggressive and violent when pushed too far, often snapping at Ein for constant bullying and sometimes Zane.
After being a frequent target of Ein's abuse for years, he has gotten more assertive in fighting back, such as when he ordered a robot specifically for payback and even mocked Ein for not being able to afford the same robot.[1] He'll also enact revenge against someone who isn't at fault, like when he shot Aphmau out of the sky because he blamed her for his cookies getting burnt.[2] He'll also resort to revenge if he feels intentionally left out, forgotten about, or targeted by outright bullying. He once used an army of crabs to ruin everyone's island vacation when he believed they intentionally left him behind, with him even choosing to double down when Aphmau gave him a second chance.[3] Besides Ein, the one person Noi seems to hate is Gene when he joins the server. He usually gets along well with the girls.
Noi also has a mischievous side, which can be shown when he joins other boys in causing pranks or helping Kim and sometimes KC with their own pranks. He can be sarcastic and throw quips at players who try to be nasty or act too serious. Noi can speak fluent Japanese and bits of other languages and often uses it for dramatics. Noi revealed he had a crush on Kim and often flirts with her or supports her plans when they play together.
Appearance[]
Noi has shaggy salmon hair, amber eyes, a yellow-orange hoodie, and light blue jeans with white sneakers. In promotional content, Noi's hair and eyes are more orange, and he has pointy ears as a nod to his Daemos origins in My Inner Demons.
Base[]
Noi usually has an orange-colored base, typically with pens for animals, a crop farm, and/or a barn.
Trivia[]
- Noi is currently one of the only main characters on the SMP to not have a variant in ALTERNATES along with Ein and Mac.
- Noi is the only member of the group that is left-handed.
- He has a similar personality to his My Inner Demons self with his happy, supportive, and naive demeanor, unlike Pierce, whose personality is very different from his My Inner Demons counterpart.
- Like his My Inner Demons counterpart, Noi loves eating and snacks. Instead of pizza, his favorite Vanilla Minecraft food is cookies.
- Noi is frequently left out when the other boys play "all boys" One Blocks and other minigames.
- Out of all the main SMP characters, Noi appears the least number of times in video thumbnails.
- Noi and Kim sometimes split off to play alone, such as in the episode "Turning my FRIENDS into TSUNAMIS in Minecraft!”.
- In the episode “Minecraft But I RATE MY FRIENDS”, Noi called Kim cute.
- In the episode “Becoming a SECRET GENIE in Minecraft!” Kim wished for a secret weapon, but she wasn't specific, so the game spawned Noi in as her secret weapon.
- It was shown in the episode “Playing as a HELPFUL Pizza Kitten!” that despite Kim teaming up with Zane to wreck a party Noi threw for having too much "weird" pizza, Noi still cared about her. When Zane betrayed Kim and killed her for liking ranch on pizza, Noi snapped and attacked Zane, raging at him for hurting her.
- In the episode “Minecraft But I CONTROL my FRIENDS!”, Aphmau takes control of Noi and helps him get a date with Kim by impressing her with cookies and flirty pickup lines.
- He loves animals and gets really excited when he sees puppies. However, if an animal is edible, then he has a hard time holding himself back from eating it.[4]
- In early videos, Noi's voice was much higher-pitched, being similar to his voice in My Inner Demons. He also wore a yellow hoodie. Starting from “Who Should APHMAU DATE in Minecraft?!” and onwards, Noi's voices have become deeper, closer to his VA's real voice, and Noi now wears a more orange hoodie.
- Since Kim and Noi's crushes on each other were revealed to viewers, they started partnering up more in recent videos, often sharing a house together the same way Aphmau and Aaron or KC and Zane do. Noi now often compliments Kim and likes to call her a "pretty lady" similar to how Zane address KC as "my lady" and how Aaron always calls Aphmau "Babe". In recent videos where Kim takes the role of the villain, Noi usually sides with her both in “Becoming a DRAGON GODDESS in Minecraft!” and “Saved by the DARK KNIGHT in Minecraft!”.
- His voice actor announced a hiatus in December 2024, and Noi disappeared from all videos until mid-2025. He made a return in May 2025 in "I Become a MERMAID at MIDNIGHT... : THE MOVIE!", but unlike when Ein returned, Noi didn't go back to being as present in videos as he used to and resumed the hiatus after only a few appearances.
