Phoenix, who goes under the nickname Phe or Aphmau (as her counterpart), is the main character in Meteora Valley.
Biography[]
It is stated before that she helped her sister break free from the monster realm, the "King" ordered her to be executed, but somehow she escaped. The reason why she was in the overworld was to get her sister back into the monster realm and no other reason, but she ended up meeting Leo and Zero.
Appearance[]
She wears purple overalls with green buttons, a white undershirt with sleeves that go to her elbows, and brown boots that go to her knees. She has shorter hair then usual and her skin is highly detailed.
In her monster form, her eyes turn purple and her skin turns light gray.
Personality[]
In the beginning of the series, she is claimed to be 'awkward', because of her stuttering and the way she spoke. Being raised in a different realm, she is unfamiliar with most human customs and traditions, resulting in others being confused.
Abilities[]
Only one ability seems to be super obviously present as such of the moment and it is her fast running. Her speed is really fast shown both when heading to the Spirit Mender's tribe and Leo remarks: "Inhumanly so." and when she beats Takota (a spirit mender tribesman) to Meteora Valley and is gone before he even turns around.
Some fans go as far as to claim Phoenix is a werewolf of some kind, which is why in the first episode, upon glancing at the full moon retired to her room quickly, to which Zero remarks in the morning: "Any explanation for what went on in your room last night?" and continues to say that apparently Phoenix had been quite loud in her room with strange growling or snapping sounds.
Another possible species that Phoenix could be is a dragon or an actual phoenix. In the most recent episode "TALK WITH ANIMALS", Aphmau had a little (one-sided) conversation with a raccoon. The raccoon made a high-pitched, squeaky growl, which Phoenix made fun of. She then made a loud growl/roar sound, which sounded like a dragon. Also, she is shown to be able to teleport in a fiery flash, which both a dragon and a phoenix could do. The thumbnail for episode 4 "Alone in the Woods", depicts a red and black colored figure shooting flames around them. This is probably a phoenix. The figure looks like a phoenix, but could be a dragon as well.
But with the ending of the series, Phe or Aphmau is confirmed to be in fact a monster. And that the monsters did not disappear and moved to another dimension. Phe's sister was a monster and hated humans and apparently came from the monster dimension as well, only to be lured back with the hopes of becoming the King's (also her and Phe's father) elite guard.
