Sylvanna is a recurring character in the Aphmau SMP.

Personality

Sylvanna loves her daughter, Aphmau, but she is a strict and overprotective helicopter parent towards her, going as far as to install a tracker on Aphmau's phone behind her back. She rarely lets Aphmau do anything fun or be with her friends for what she believes is for her own good. For example, she tried to take Aphmau away from a field trip to the zoo for unrealistic reasons that she made up on the spot. She is also prone to grounding her daughter for unjust reasons, with her punishments towards Aphmau sometimes going too far, such as throwing away everything in Aphmau's room until it's completely empty. She'll also use prison-like measures to keep Aphmau detained and keep her grounded longer than necessary. And it doesn’t even matter if Aphmau is an independent adult or not, for she’ll ground her regardless. She also won’t listen to any reasoning from Aphmau whenever she’s mad at her or punishing her, even if a fellow family member has been taken by a killer. She’ll also make decisions that affect Aphmau without her consent, like signing both her and her friends up for summer school. She's also not against outright lying to her daughter to make her do what she says. At one point, she made a bet with her daughter. If she couldn't tolerate Aphmau being home alone for 24 hours, Aphmau wouldn't be grounded no matter what the latter did. Sylvanna however used several loopholes to cheat as much as she could. And when she did end up losing the bet by barging into the house in a fit of rage, she grounded Aphmau anyway.

Sylvanna might not trust most of Aphmau's friends, especially the boys due to cooties, even cancelling her sleepovers whenever boys show up at the door, but she absolutely despises Aaron above everyone else. She is stubborn about her feelings towards Aaron and is dead set on believing that he is a horrible human being and the absolute worst person on the planet, period. She couldn't care less over how happy Aaron makes Aphmau, for she never wants him to be with her. The mere sight of Aaron near Aphmau is enough to throw Sylvanna in a fit of rage as she lashes out at him full force. She even called the cops on him to get him arrested when he tried to sneak into Aphmau’s house at one point. The kindest way she acts towards Aaron is through passive aggression.

Out of all of Aphmau's friends, Sylvanna is surprisingly fond of Ein the most. Despite what Aphmau tells her, she believes that Ein is kind and sweet. She also hypocritically wants Ein to be Aphmau's boyfriend despite having constantly forbid Aphmau from having any boys in her life. This causes Ein to put on a facade to keep her image of him intact while remaining his normal self behind her back. Even if Ein's true nature is exposed to her however, it won't change how she feels about Aaron. Sylvanna will also get Aphmau engaged with someone that’s either mean or evil without her consent, which could be Ein, Zane, Gene, Asch, or some other common antagonist.

Zane is another one of Aphmau's friends that she accepts. However, this is mainly because Zane will easily help her discipline Aphmau since he acts like a strict parent towards her himself. For example, he made a remote for Sylvanna that would allow her to cause bad things to happen to Aphmau whenever she heard her say the word "flerpz" in an attempt to con her into not swearing. He'll also help her keep Aphmau and Aaron separated in order to get a win over Aaron. He also once hesitated to help Aphmau escape a cell her parents put her in when he learned she was grounded.

Her relationship with her husband, Zack, is on and off. Sometimes, they are a loving couple, but other times, Zack's carefree, fun-loving, and sometimes childish nature can end up triggering her, such as when he lost control of a monster truck he was playing with and it put their daughter in danger. She is however able to talk sense into him, such as making sure that he knows that Aphmau and Aaron can never be together when she's not there to keep the couple separated herself.

Even though it may appear that Sylvanna is against fun, she does enjoy hanging out with one of her best/close friends, Zianna (the mother of Garroth, Zane, and Vylad), in which they act bubbly together. She also doesn't like being disturbed by her daughter whenever herself and Zianna are hanging out, no matter what the reason, even if Aphmau is being bullied by boys.

Appearance

Having long, greyed black hair with her right bang being longer than her left, a tan complexion, and brown eyes, Sylvanna borrows her casual attire from the first season of MyStreet Phoenix Drop High, but also her faded hair from MyStreet.

In winter, she wears a puffy, dark red parka as well as brown boots.

Base

Sylvanna lives in a terracotta-colored, suburban-styled house. She can be shown living with Aphmau and/or Zack. Before that however, her house color was pale magenta.

Trivia

• Her first appearance was in "Showing My MOM Our Minecraft World!".
• In her first appearances on the server, she adopted the role of a prankster, with her even teaming up with Ein to prank her own daughter after someone blew up her house and framed Aphmau.
• Sylvanna's hatred towards Aaron is a trait borrowed from how her MyStreet counterpart felt about him from "Who's Coming to Dinner?" to "Aphmau's Mom to the Rescue".
  • Another trait borrowed from MyStreet is how much she likes Ein, for her MyStreet counterpart believed that Ein and Aphmau were dating because Ein lied to her.
• Unlike in MyStreet, Sylvanna and Zack never divorced, with them instead being a married couple every time they appear together.
• This version of Sylvanna appears to be more antagonistic than her MyStreet counterpart, for her overall personality is a heavy exaggeration of her MyStreet counterpart’s parenting towards Aphmau, hatred towards Aaron, and acceptance of Ein.
  • This was especially the case in "Murder at MONSTER HIGH: THE MOVIE!", in which she went full yandere and committed mass murder on everyone that she deemed was bothering Aphmau, with Aaron's murder being purely personal. She was also willing to kill the rest of her friends until she had no one left in the school. She even allowed Aphmau to get incriminated for the murders and even almost killed her herself plenty of times, with her baiting Aaron into sacrificing himself to save Aphmau and striking lightning at her while trying to kill her friends.
• Ever since “BIRTH to DEATH of a PHOENIX in Minecraft!”, there has been a running gag of her and Zack either dying or getting killed literal seconds after Aphmau’s birth in the “BIRTH to DEATH” videos.
• She seems to idolize and take inspiration from Mother Gothel from Tangled, for their parenting methods are very similar. This is especially shown when she starts singing and quoting "Mother Knows Best".
• Although rare, there are a few instances where Aphmau is all in on the way Sylvanna lashes out on Aaron. Aphmau can also get her mom to attack someone for her pretty efficiently.
